From the stories one hears, one could conclude that psychiatrists haven't a clue to the meaning of the word "ethics". Just as they feel they can define what is normal or not for the rest of us, so they feel they themselves can do no wrong. Since they are virtually immune to being diagnosed as "mentally ill" or successfully criminally prosecuted themselves, and a patient's word or charge against them is seldom taken seriously, this is an attractive profession for one who desires to live by his own rules.
